A Widget is an interactive desktop application that provides specific information or functionality. They can be located on the dock found at the top of the YouthWire panel.
Ranging from games to news feeds to videos, they allow content to be updated in real time providing users with a new way to experience the web and to interact with content they genuinely want.
Widgets are a great way to market your site and your brand by providing a form of advertising that is, in itself, a service demonstrating your brand. They have the potential to be extremely viral with their mobility making them particularly easy to share across social networks.
Auto Trader Mobile
Auto Trader wanted to promote their new mobile site. Their main objectives were to direct traffic to the Auto Trader mobile site and to raise awareness of the Auto Trader brand. We created a widget for students to input their phone number into in order to receive a SMS with a link to the Auto Trader website. After 3 months, the widget had over 4,770 users.
